    St. John Vianney Catholic School held their breast cancer awareness fundraiser and donated the proceeds to the Cancer Center. Many thanks to principal, Cathy Marshall, the faculty and students for their gifts in honor of and/or in memory of their family members and friends.

    Orange Tree Women’s Golf Association – $4758

    Orange Tree Women’s Golf Association wrapped presents for donations during the days leading up to Christmas at Barnes and Noble on Sand Lake Road and also held their annual basket of cheer raffle at their clubhouse to raise a total of $4,758.  Many thanks to Debbie Austin for heading up these initiatives and her committee of volunteers who helped.

    Big Pink Game – $710

    Orlando Christian Preparatory’s varsity girl’s volley ball team held their “Big Pink Game” fundraiser on October 13 against Cornerstone Charter Academy raising $710 from merchandise sold (polo shirts, hair ribbons etc with the school logo).   The junior and varsity team came to the cancer center to personally present Dr. Mark Roh and his executive staff with a check. Many thanks to the faculty and students for re-engaging with Women Playing For T.I.M.E. and the Cancer Center.

    Chick-fil-A One Sip At a Time – $467

    During the month of Pink October, Chick-fil-A, South Orange Avenue store, donated .75 from each large and .50 from each regular size strawberry milkshake sold to UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health and raised $467.

    Spot the Pink Nissan

    A pink Nissan Rogue sporting the UF Health Cancer Center -Orlando Health and WPFT logos will be cruising around town and making appearances at fundraisers supporting WPFT and the Cancer Center whenever possible.  Thanks to our friends at Reed Nissan, WPFT has added exposure during Pink October.

    Dig For A Cure – $4,000

    Bishop Moore Catholic High School, located at 3901 Edgewater Dr., 32804, held their annual Dig For a Cure fundraiser.   JV and Varsity girls volley ball teams played against Winter Park High on their home court and raised $4,000. Proceeds from this home game and pink t-shirt sales was donated to the Cancer Center.

    Hope Hike at 5 Locations!

    Mark your calendars for the annual Hope Hike celebrating Pink October in Orlando City Hall’s rotunda at 9:30am on Friday, October 19.  We will walk in unison to support Breast Cancer Awareness from City Hall to UF Health Cancer Center – Orlando Health’s plaza where a reception and refreshments will be waiting. Dr. P. Phillips, Health Central, South Seminole Hospital Lake Mary office, and South Lake Hospitals will host Hope Hike events at their facilities too.

    Duplicate Bridge Goes Pink – $8,100

    Duplicate Bridge Goes Pink was held on October 26th for its fifth year.  This year it was hosted by Interlachen Country Club and they presold  Tribute Flags again.  Many thanks to Helen Cairns for continually chairing the event.

    Tribute Flags For T.I.M.E.

    The Duplicate Bridge committee will once again presell pink and teal tribute flags in honor or memory of friends and loved ones.  Flags are $35 each or 4/$100 and will be displayed at their tournament hosted at Interlachen Country Club on October 26.  Flags can be purchased at WPFTFlags.com.

    Gift Wrapping at Barnes & Noble – $1,570

    Orange Tree Women’s Golf Association manned their annual gift wrapping station at the Barnes & Noble book store located at 7900 W. Sand Lake Road for donations to WPFT and raised $1570.  Volunteers were on hand to wrap purchases from December 18 – 24.  In addition, they also sold “chances to win” for a basket of cheer at their club to raise an additional $2,050.

    Piano Play-a-thon – $860

    The Central Florida Music Teacher’s Association held their annual Play-a-thon event on January 17 raising $860 for WPFT. Music students representing Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola counties played their music on the baby grand piano in the cancer center’s lobby.  Many thanks to event chair, Lydia Blakemore, for partnering with WPFT again.
